Sleeve Gastrectomy

What is Sleeve Gastrectomy?

It is the most preferred bariatric surgery procedure. This procedure involves removing a large portion of the stomach and creating a smaller stomach pouch. How is this surgical procedure performed?

It is usually performed laparoscopically, i.e. through a small incision and using special instruments. During the procedure, approximately 75-80% of the stomach is removed and the remaining part is converted into a tubular structure.
